NPCI info: RuPay card can be used for on-line payments!

National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) made a press release yesterday (7th April):

RuPay cards given by the Nationalised Banks can now be used for for on-line transactions.

Hence, customers having RuPay cards can now use them for on-line rail ticket booking, or bus/flight tickets.

Presently, there are around 1.4 Crore RuPay cards in use.

When using RuPay card for on-line transactions, it has to be registered during the first time transaction.

NPCI has informed that over 30000 on-line traders have accepted usage of RuPay Cards.
