The money order service, which is largely used by the poorer sections of the society, is not yet stopped!
Indian Postal Department has clarified that some private competitors are spreading the wrong news!
The large & poorest section of the country�s society has been using the Money Order Service for sending money in the easiest possible way.
In this scenario, there was a news yesterday that the Deputy Director of India Post, Mr. Shiv Madhurkumar had announced the stoppage of Money Order facility. This was shocking news to the large number of users. The public gathered in the nearby Post Offices to confirm whether this is true.
India Post has responded with an explanation through a circular released yesterday, Monday, 6th April:
News has been spreading that Money Order Service has been stopped.
With a high-efficiency performance, India Post has been a leading service in this field to its competitors.
Some of the competitors have started services for sending money through cell-phones. However, India Post Money Order Service has proved to be tough competitor. Hence the competitors have been spreading a wrong news that India Post Money Order Service is being stopped!
All Divisional Heads of India Post must create awareness among the public about this wrong news and that Money Order Service is still in action. They should also create awareness among the public about other related services such as Instant Money Order (IMO), Mobile Money Order (MMO), and International Money Order (INMO).
