Tamil Nadu Textbook Corporation to bring in a price hike

Books of class 1 to 12 that are to be sold by the Textbook Corporation of Tamil Nadu are likely to get their price hiked by 25 to 250 per cent in the coming academic year. According to reports from the Secretary of School Education, Sabitha, price of CBSE class 8 Tamil text books are to be hiked from Rs 65 to Rs 110, and that of 9th standard will be increased from Rs 70 to Rs 140. Price of 10th standard math, Science and Social science books are increased from Rs 85 to Rs 160, Rs 170 and Rs 130 respectively.
