Tamil Nadu School Education Department-School students should not wear costly jewels

There was news recently that a co-student murdered a student for her ear rings. This incident was a great shock to school teachers and parents. In view of the foregoing, S. Kannappan, Director of School Education has sent circulars to all district educational officers in connection with the safety of students.

There were guidelines in the circular. Now a situation has risen that there should be lots of vigilance in the safety of school students. 
  • Students coming to school should not wear costly jewels. They also should not bring gadgets like mobile phones.
  • Students should not come alone. They should come in a group from their homes.
  • Avoid water stagnated areas. Utter care should be taken while crossing railway tracks and highways.
  • Footboard travel should be avoided in buses and trains.
  • Avoid talking or taking food from strangers.
  • Avoid quarrels with co-students and other school students.
  • After school time, students should not go out without informing their parents.
The above should be informed to the students by the head masters at the prayer assembly.
