Ministry of Railways have decided that Shri Ashok K. Agarwal, General Manager, Integral Coach Factory (ICF), will look after the duties of the post of General Manager, Southern Railway, in addition to his own.
Shri Ashok K. Agarwal, had taken over the charge of the post of General Manager, Southern Railway, Chennai o�n 1st February 2015 in addition to the post of General Manager, Integral Coach Factory. Earlier he was Chief Administrative Officer, IROAF (Indian Railways Organisation for Alternate Fuels), New Delhi.
Belonging to 1977 batch of Indian Railways Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME), he has worked in various capacities as Divisional Railway Manager/West Central Railway, Bhopal, Chief Mechanical Engineer in East Coast Railway and in Diesel Loco Modernisation Works(DMW), Patiala apart from holding various other posts in Railway Board, RITES, RDSO, Western Railway and Northern Railway.
He has nearly 37 years of experience o�n the Indian Railways in the field of Man & Asset Management, Workshop Management, Railway Operations, Materials Management, Investment & Budgetary Control, Transfer of Technology, Planning and R&D. He has also attended customized training programme for higher management at HEC, Paris and visited many other countries such as USA, UK, France, South Africa, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria etc., in connection with Railway Assignments.
He was awarded Gold Medals by the Institution of Engineers, India and by Railway Staff College, Vadodara for his distinctive achievements.
