Central Government�s New Regulation: Hotels should register the particulars of foreigners on-line!

The central government has imposed a new regulation that the lodges, hotels, and educational institutions should register the details of all foreigners on-line.
Currently, the system of registering the particulars of all foreigners is done at the Foreigner Registration Office. Foreigners will have to fill an application (Form-C) given by the office and submit. However, a lot of malpractices have been observed in this procedure.
Hence, the system of registering on-line has been made compulsory.
The ministry of Home Affairs has initiated this step in order to modernise the the services for the foreigners consulates and also to strengthen the security.
From now, the foreigners landing in India will register their particulars on-line in the web site: http://boi.gov.in.
When the foreigners stay in lodges, hotels, houses, hospitals, or educational institutions the owners/authorities of these premises should register their particulars on-line.
Any falire to follow this regulation will entail penalty and imprisonment up to 5 years.
