American Senate has approved the nomination of Mr. Richard Rahul Varma, an American of of Indian origin, as the US Ambassador to India.
Mr. Richard Rahul Varma is the first American of Indian origin to be appointed as ambassador to India.
Mr. Richard Rahul Varma, 39-years old, is expected to assume office shortly.
He will also be visiting India along with US President Barrack Obama during the Republic Day celebrations on 26th January, 2015.
