Kerala is way ahead to ban liquor in 10 years

A team of Congress party members headed by Ummansandi decided to bring about a complete ban of liquor in another ten years.
As a step to make it possible eventually, license is not being given to new liquor outlets. Further, license of over 418 existing bars are cancelled and sealed.
It was earlier said that 10% liquor shops will be closed each and every year since 2nd October 2014. Complying with this, ten shops were closed in Kerala on the eve of Gandhi Jayanthi.
In addition to this, Kerala government has announced to keep all bars shut on Sundays. This system got to practice from last Sunday and all bars remained closed.
Bar owners opposed to shut bars on Sundays, however, owing to warnings about stringent actions against bar owners if kept open, they were left with no option other than keeping it shut.
