46% Indians spend 6 hours on internet every day!

As a sign of indication of the increasing importance of internet in India, a recent survey reveals that over 46% of users in the country are engaged in internet activities for 6 or more hours in a day. And over 82% of them are in a fear of missing it out.
In its �Connected World II� report, Tata Communications has mentioned this alarming survey result.
This report is the capture of more than 9417 internet users from 6 emerging or developed countries: France, India, Germany, Singapore, US and UK.
On surveying, it is found that over 56% of Indian internet users find it hard to survive without internet for at least five consecutive hours. Though men count in more numbers in the population of total internet users, women hold 21 per cent and outdo men with 16 per cent in getting anxious or lost when they are unable to get connected to the web, the survey adds.
The study also points that people migrate in more numbers from Television to smartphones or Tablets. Nearly 43% Indians are readily willing to quite television for internet compared to Americans (17 per cent) and Euroeans (22 per cent).
Speaking about this, Nextgen Business Chief Marketing Officer and CEO Juli Woods-Moss of Tata Communications says internet has completely changed our functioning. Internet has a great impact on various facets of our day to day life, economy and society.
On a global note, nearly 2.5 billion individuals are kept connected by the web. And this is nearly one-third of the overall world�s population!
Interestingly, the count would elevate to 26 billion in another six years.
