Financial assistance to fishermen during the 45-day annual fishing ban
TN chief minister J Jayalalithaa on Monday announced that the financial assistance to fishermen during the 45-day annual fishing ban period has been hiked from Rs 1,800 to Rs 2,700 per person. About 2.1 lakh fishermen and about 1.9 lakh fisherwomen would benefit from this, she said in the assembly.
