M.P.Saminathan the Highways Minister, Government of Tamilnadu announced in the assembly while replying to a debate that seven more flyovers are being planned in different placed in Chennai at cost of Rs 1171 crores. Two long over bridges on Anna Salai, five on Rajiv Gandhi Salai are the seven flyovers planned .one of two bridges on Anna Salai would originate near the new Secretariat and terminate at Patulous Road. The other one would originate near Teynampet and end near the Mambalam channel in Saidapet.The first one would be 2-km long and the second, 3 km. The two flyovers would cost Rs. 500 crore. Piling works would begin this year.
