Jyestabhishekam, a three day annual fete began on a vibrant note on Wednesday at the temple of Lord Venkateswara. In correlation with the yearly day annual fete to which colossal significance was attached among all the other temple rituals, the processional idols of Lord Malayappa along with his two divine consorts were taken out to the Sampangi prakaram where homam was performed amidst of chanting of Vedic hymns by the priests.
This was followed by Satakalasa Thirumanjanam wherein celestial bath was provided to the deities with sacred waters being fetched in hundred pots.
Later in the evening, the deities were provided with Swarna Kavacham (golden armour) and were taken around in a grand procession through the thoroughfares of the temple town.
