50,000 rainwater harvesting structures to be set up

The government will set up 50,000 rain water harvesting structures near storm water drains on various roads in the city. The project will be set up at an estimated cost of Rs 25crore, Mayor Saidai Duraisamy said.

The work will be taken up and completed before the onset of monsoon. It will also help improve the ground water level in the city, he said.
