Procuring Information under RTI Act becomes Costlier ďż˝ Madras High Court

Madras High Court has increased the charges for the applicants who seek information under the Right to Information Act. The fee has been raised from Rs.10 to Rs.100, which seems to be very expensive.

Moreover, we have decided that the replica of decree / order / documents / judgment as part of the judicial sector will not be hand out under the RTI Act, sources from HC says. As on April 4, the Registrar General of the Madras high court said that the amendment of the RTI rules of the court is as per the authority granted by section 28 of the Act, on the orders of the ruling chief honesty of high court.
