Postal Ballot Application Distribution Begins in Tamil Nadu
The Election Commission has started distributing postal ballot application forms from March 18, 2026, for eligible voters who are unable to visit polling booths.
This facility is available for senior citizens aged above 85 years and persons with disabilities (40% and above), allowing them to cast their votes from home through postal ballots.
Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit eligible voters at their residences to provide the application forms. Voters must fill and submit the forms directly to the BLOs to opt for this सुविधा.
Once a voter opts for postal voting, they cannot later vote in person at the polling booth.
Persons with disabilities must submit valid ID proof along with disability certificate or medical documents while applying.
Officials have urged all eligible voters to make use of this facility to ensure their participation in the election process.
