Southern Railway Announces Changes for Pothigai and Nellai Express
The Southern Railway has announced temporary changes to the services of the Pothigai Express and the Nellai Express due to infrastructure and maintenance works at Chennai Egmore Railway Station.
According to the announcement, the Pothigai Express (Train No. 12661), which normally departs from Egmore, will instead depart from Tambaram Railway Station from March 17 to April 6. During this period, the train will leave Tambaram at 8:05 PM.
Similarly, the Nellai Express (Train No. 12632), operating from Tirunelveli Railway Station to Chennai, will terminate at Tambaram instead of Egmore from March 16 to April 5, reaching Tambaram at approximately 6:25 AM.
Railway officials have stated that these changes are temporary and are being implemented to facilitate ongoing development and maintenance works at Egmore station. Passengers are advised to check the revised boarding and arrival points before starting their journey.
