Tamil Nadu Electricity Department White Paper to be Released Today

The Tamil Nadu Electricity Department’s white paper is set to be released today (June 25), providing details about the current status and functioning of the state’s power sector.

The announcement comes after a political debate in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, where opposition leader Udhayanidhi Stalin alleged that the state was facing power-related issues and criticised the administration’s handling of the situation.

Responding to the allegations, Minister C.D.R. Nirmal Kumar stated that several irregularities had taken place in the electricity sector during the previous DMK government. He also announced that a detailed white paper would be released to explain the condition of Tamil Nadu’s power department.

As announced by the minister, the report is expected to include details about the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board’s infrastructure, revenue, expenditure, and other key aspects of the department’s operations.
