Kumarakottam Temple is a prominent Hindu temple located in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, dedicated to Lord Murugan, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The temple is also widely known as the Subramaniya Swami Temple.
Though ancient in origin, the temple was rebuilt in its current form in 1915 CE. It is considered one of the 21 important temples in Kanchipuram, making it a significant pilgrimage destination for devotees.
The temple holds spiritual importance in Tamil devotional tradition, as Saint Arunagirinathar composed hymns praising Lord Murugan enshrined here.
