The Chief Kazi has announced that Ramzan (Eid-ul-Fitr) will be celebrated across Tamil Nadu on March 21, as the Shawwal crescent moon was not sighted today.

Ramadan, a sacred month for Muslims, began following the sighting of the crescent moon last month. During this period, devotees observe fasting from dawn (Sehri) to sunset (Iftar), abstaining from food and drink throughout the day.

As per Islamic tradition, if the new moon is not sighted, the month completes 30 days. With the Shawwal moon not visible, Ramadan will conclude after 30 days, and Ramzan will be observed on March 21.
