Chennai Corporation Warns Cow Owners to Get License Before March 18
The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has issued a strict warning to cow owners in the city to obtain licenses for their cattle before March 18. Officials stated that action will be taken against owners who fail to comply with the rules within the given deadline.
The corporation has made it mandatory for cattle owners to register their cows and obtain official licenses, along with installing microchips for identification. This initiative aims to control the increasing number of stray cattle roaming on city roads and public places.
According to the Chennai Corporation, thousands of cattle are currently present within city limits, and many of them are found wandering freely on roads, causing traffic congestion, accidents, and public safety concerns. To address this issue, authorities have given a deadline for cattle owners to complete the licensing process.
Officials warned that strict action and penalties will be imposed on owners who fail to obtain licenses before March 18. The corporation has urged all cattle owners to register their animals and follow the guidelines to avoid fines and other legal action.
This measure is part of the corporation’s efforts to improve public safety, regulate cattle management, and reduce stray cattle problems in Chennai.
