SBI Card and Google Pay Launch Co-Branded Credit Card with Rewards and UPI Integration

SBI Card and Google have partnered to introduce the Google Pay SBI Card, a co-branded credit card launched as part of the Google Pay Flex offering. The card is designed to simplify everyday payments by combining SBI Card`s credit expertise with Google Pay`s digital platform, while offering rewards, flexible repayment options and enhanced security.

The card is available on both RuPay and Visa payment networks. The RuPay variant can be linked with UPI, enabling users to make seamless payments at millions of UPI-enabled merchants across India. Both variants also support tokenised contactless payments through the Google Pay app.

Rewards and Benefits

Cardholders can earn up to 18,000 reward stars annually, with rewards increasing based on monthly spending.

- Earn up to 8 stars for every ₹500 spent, depending on spending milestones.
- Reward points can be earned on categories including grocery shopping, utility bill payments, travel bookings, retail purchases and online transactions.
- 1 Star = ₹1, and stars can be redeemed instantly while making UPI payments through Google Pay or for eligible vouchers available in the app.

Welcome Offers

New cardholders receive welcome benefits worth ₹1,000, including:

- ₹500 welcome cashback after making the first payment.
- ₹500 worth of reward stars credited to the user`s Google Pay account after payment of the joining fee.

Milestone Rewards

Cardholders can unlock higher reward rates based on monthly spending:

- Spend ₹15,000 in a billing cycle and earn 4 stars for every ₹500 spent.
- Spend ₹30,000 or more in a billing cycle and earn 8 stars for every ₹500 spent.

Fees and Renewal Benefits

The card carries a joining fee and annual renewal fee of ₹499, plus applicable taxes.

The renewal fee will be waived if the cardholder spends ₹1 lakh or more during the previous membership year.

Flexible EMI Option

Customers can convert their latest outstanding credit card bill into easy monthly instalments (EMIs), providing greater flexibility in managing repayments.

Integrated Digital Experience

Users can apply for the card, manage their account, make payments, track rewards and redeem benefits directly within the Google Pay app, eliminating the need to switch between multiple platforms.

Speaking about the launch, SBI Card Managing Director and CEO Salila Pande said the partnership aims to make credit card transactions simpler, more rewarding and more relevant for customers by combining convenience, security and flexibility.

Sharath Bulusu, Senior Director at Google Pay, said the new offering is designed to make digital credit as accessible and convenient as everyday UPI paymyments, while giving users greater control over their finances through instant access, flexible repayment options and real-time rewards.
