Tambaram Corporation Launches Month-Long Anti-Rabies Vaccination Drive for Dogs

The Tambaram City Municipal Corporation (TCMC) has launched a month-long anti-rabies vaccination (ARV) drive for stray and pet dogs across the city. The campaign began on Saturday and is being conducted under the guidance of the Corporation’s Public Health Department to prevent the spread of rabies and protect both people and animals.

Vaccination Drive Across Tambaram

As part of the campaign, vaccination teams will visit different wards and administer anti-rabies vaccines to dogs. According to the Corporation, the vaccination drive will be conducted free of cost on working days throughout August.

Residents have been urged to cooperate with the vaccination teams when they visit their respective wards and support the Corporation’s efforts to prevent the spread of rabies in Tambaram.

Pet Owners Urged to Vaccinate Their Dogs

The Corporation has also appealed to residents to bring their pet dogs to vaccination camps in their respective areas and ensure they receive the anti-rabies vaccine.

Regular vaccination of dogs can help reduce the risk of rabies and protect both people and animals.

Rabies Awareness Programme

In addition to the vaccination drive, the civic body plans to create awareness among residents and school students about rabies prevention and the importance of responsible dog care.

The month-long initiative is aimed at strengthening rabies prevention measures in Tambaram and encouraging public participation in protecting community health and animal welfare.
