Chennai Rains: Private Schools Declare Holiday on Their Own

With continuous rainfall lashing Chennai since early morning, a few private schools in Poonamallee have voluntarily declared a half-day holiday, even though the district administration has not officially announced any leave.
According to the Weather Department, a system located 30 km from Chennai is likely to bring heavy to very heavy rains over the city and surrounding areas.
