Voter ID Errors Not a Problem, Says Election Commission

The Election Commission has clarified that minor spelling or printing mistakes in voter ID cards do not matter during voting, as long as the voter’s identity can be verified.
Voters must prove their identity at the polling booth, usually using their Voter Photo ID Card (EPIC).
If the ID card is not available, voters can use any one of 12 approved alternative ID documents, including Aadhaar.
Even if the voter ID has errors in name or details, it will still be accepted if the identity matches.
A voter can use an ID issued from another constituency, but their name must be present in the current polling booth voter list.
If there is a photo mismatch, voters must provide another valid photo ID from the approved list.
