Chennai Metro Rail Wins Award for Best Passenger Services and Satisfaction

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has received the ‘Award of Excellence in Urban Transport’ in the category of ‘Metro Rail with the Best Passenger Services and Satisfaction’ at the Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference organised by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).

The award was presented by Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Odisha Minister for Housing and Urban Development Krushna Chandra Mahapatra to Ashish Chatterjee, Principal Secretary and Managing Director of CMRL.

Digital Ticketing: Around 80% of ticketing transactions are cashless.

Public Transport Integration: Better connectivity with city bus services.

NCMC Adoption: Leadership among Indian metro systems in the use of the National Common Mobility Card.

The recognition highlights Chennai Metro`s efforts to provide safer, more convenient and accessible urban transport. Integration with city buses and the promotion of cashless ticketing are also helping improve the commuting experience.
