Tirupati Thirukudai Procession: Traffic Diversions in Chennai Tomorrow

The annual Tirupati Thirukudai procession will be held in Chennai tomorrow (Sunday), organised by the Hindu Dharma Artha Samithi Trust. A large number of devotees are expected to participate in the procession.

To prevent traffic congestion, Chennai Traffic Police have announced traffic diversions along the procession route.

Waltex Road

From 8:00 AM, vehicles will not be allowed on Mint Road and its connecting roads until the procession crosses Waltex Road. Motorists can use EVR Periyar Salai, Rajaji Salai, Waltex Road, Basin Bridge Road and Prakasam Salai as alternative routes.

From 3:00 PM, vehicles will not be allowed on Waltex Road and its connecting roads until the procession crosses the Basin Bridge area. Motorists can use Basin Bridge Road and Mint Road towards Prakasam Salai or Rajaji Salai. EVR Periyar Salai, Muthusamy Salai and Rajaji Salai can also be used.

When the procession approaches the Basin Bridge area, vehicles travelling from Choolai Roundabout towards Demellows Road will not be allowed. Such vehicles can use Choolai High Road and Raja Muthiah Road.

Vepery High Road

When the procession reaches Raja Muthiah Road, vehicles travelling from the Masoodi Junction towards Choolai Roundabout will not be allowed. Motorists can use Vepery High Road as an alternative route.

When the procession reaches Choolai High Road, vehicles will not be allowed to proceed towards Choolai High Road from the Narayanaguru Road–EVK Sampath Road junction. Motorists can use Vepery High Road instead.

When the procession reaches A.P. Road, vehicles will not be allowed to proceed towards Choolai High Road from the Perambur Barracks Road junction.

Perambur Barracks Road

When the procession passes through Perambur Barracks Road, vehicles travelling from Dowton Junction towards Perambur Barracks Road will not be allowed. Such vehicles can use Narayanaguru Road.

Otteri Junction

When the procession reaches Otteri Junction, vehicles travelling from the Millers Road junction towards Otteri Junction via Bricklin Road will not be allowed. Motorists can use Purasawalkam High Road as an alternative route.

When the procession reaches the Konnoor Point area, vehicles approaching Konnoor Point from Otteri Bridge, Medavakkam Tank Road and ICF Junction will be diverted through alternative routes.

Security Arrangements

Elaborate police security arrangements have also been made in connection with the Tirupati Thirukudai procession. Police personnel will be deployed along the procession route to ensure security and regulate traffic.
