TNEA 2026 Counselling: Final Allotment Issued to 28,550 Students; Second Round Begins August 3

The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026 counselling process is progressing, with final college allotment orders issued to 28,550 students who participated in the first round of general online counselling.

The online counselling process for engineering admissions began on July 13, followed by counselling for special-category candidates on July 15. Through these rounds, college allotment orders were issued to 950 students.

First Round of TNEA Counselling

The first round of online counselling for general-category candidates began on July 20. Students with cutoff scores ranging from 200 to 171 participated in this round.

Eligible government school students and vocational-stream candidates under the general category and the 7.5% government school reservation also took part.

A total of 32,514 candidates received provisional allotments. They were given until 5 pm on Saturday to confirm their allotted choices.

Of them, 28,550 students confirmed their provisional allotments within the stipulated deadline. TNEA subsequently issued final allotment orders to these candidates.

Students Must Join Colleges by July 30

Students who have received final allotment orders have been instructed to report to their allotted colleges and complete the admission process on or before July 30.

Candidates should follow the admission instructions provided in their allotment orders and complete the required procedures within the deadline.

TNEA Second Round Counselling from August 3

The second round of TNEA 2026 counselling will begin on August 3.

Students with cutoff scores ranging from 171 to 135.75 are eligible to participate in the second round of engineering admission counselling.
