Tamil Nadu to Establish New TIDEL and Mini TIDEL Parks in 14 Districts

The Tamil Nadu government has announced plans to set up new TIDEL Parks and Mini TIDEL Parks in 14 districts to expand the Information Technology sector and promote balanced regional development across the state.

Speaking in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, Governor R. N. Ravi said that Tamil Nadu has attracted industrial investments worth over ₹12.16 lakh crore in the last five years, resulting in large-scale industrial growth and job creation.

Employment and Investment Highlights

- Over 1,176 MoUs signed with leading companies

- Around 36 lakh employment opportunities expected

- Electronics exports reached USD 14.65 million in 2025

- Tamil Nadu accounts for 41.2% of India’s total electronics exports

Existing and New TIDEL Park Locations

The government has already established:

- A TIDEL Park at Pattabiram, Tiruvallur district

- Mini TIDEL Parks in Thanjavur, Salem, Villupuram, Thoothukudi, Vellore, and Tiruppur

New TIDEL and Mini TIDEL Parks will be developed in:

Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Hosur, Karaikudi, Virudhunagar, Tirunelveli, Kanniyakumari, Erode, Namakkal, Tiruvannamalai, Karur, Udhagamandalam, Nagapattinam, and Pudukkottai.

- A ₹83-crore FinTech Hub is being developed in Chennai

- 18 new sector-specific industrial policies have been introduced

- Tamil Nadu has nearly 40 lakh MSMEs, which play a vital role in industrial production

New startup and innovation policies are being implemented to support entrepreneurship
