Gold Investment Outlook: Gold Prices Rise by ₹520 per Sovereign in Two Days; Will Prices Fall Below ₹1 Lakh?

Gold prices in Chennai have increased for the second consecutive day, raising questions among jewellery buyers and gold investors about the next market movement. On October 27, 2026, the price of 22-carat gold rose by ₹400 per sovereign, taking the price to ₹1,05,080. With the international gold price falling below $4,150 per ounce, investors are watching closely to see whether prices could decline in the coming weeks.

Chennai Gold Price Today: October 27, 2026

The price of 22-carat gold increased by ₹50 per gram today to ₹13,135. Consequently, the price of one sovereign (8 grams) rose by ₹400 to ₹1,05,080.

Silver prices remained unchanged at ₹220 per gram, while one kilogram of silver bars was priced at ₹2,20,000.

On October 26, gold prices had already increased by ₹15 per gram and ₹120 per sovereign, taking the sovereign price to ₹1,04,680. The latest increase means gold has gained ₹520 per sovereign over two days.

International Gold Prices and Investment Expectations

International gold prices have dropped below $4,150 per ounce, attracting attention from investors who are looking for signs of a possible correction in the market.

Some projections suggest that international gold prices could fall further to $3,250 per ounce. If such a decline occurs, estimates suggest that the price of 10 grams of gold in India could potentially fall to around ₹98,000. However, this is a speculative scenario, not a confirmed forecast, and actual domestic prices will depend on several factors, including currency movements, import costs, taxes and local market conditions.

Is This the Right Time to Invest in Gold?

The recent price increase has created uncertainty for people planning to purchase jewellery or invest in gold. While some buyers are waiting for prices to fall below ₹1 lakh per sovereign, investors should avoid making decisions based solely on short-term predictions.

Gold can play a role in portfolio diversification, but prices may fluctuate considerably. Investors should consider their financial goals, investment period and risk tolerance before making a purchase.

Gold Investment Outlook

With gold prices rising locally despite international market fluctuations, the coming weeks could be important for buyers and investors. Monitoring global prices, exchange rates and domestic market trends may help investors make more informed decisions.
