Pongal Special Train: One-Way Service from Podanur to Chennai Central on January 18
To manage the festive travel rush during Pongal, Indian Railways has announced a one-way special train service between Podanur and Chennai Central.
According to the Salem Railway Division, the Podanur – Chennai Central Special Express (Train No. 06144) will operate on January 18.

Arrival: 4:45 PM at Chennai Central

Purpose of the Special Train
The service has been introduced to accommodate the heavy passenger demand during Pongal holidays, as thousands return to Chennai after celebrating the festival in their hometowns.
