Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Thunderstorms and Rain Expected on Today

Tamil Nadu is likely to receive light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning during the evening and night hours on Thursday, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC).

Gusty winds of 30-40 kmph may occur at one or two places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Moderate rain is also likely at isolated places in the Western Ghat districts.

The RMC has forecast light rain at isolated places on August 21 and 22 across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. On August 23 and 24, moderate rain is expected in parts of the Western Ghats, North Coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

Meanwhile, temperatures in parts of interior Tamil Nadu are expected to remain 2-4°C above normal until August 23.

Chennai Weather

Chennai is likely to record a maximum temperature of around 38°C and a minimum temperature of 27°C. Residents can expect hot conditions along with the possibility of evening or night-time showers.
