According to reports, the prices of key building materials such as jelly, M-sand, and P-sand have increased by around ₹500 per unit across multiple regions.

A unit of jelly, which was earlier sold at around ₹3,300, has now increased by ₹500 and is currently priced at approximately ₹3,800.

M-sand, which previously cost about ₹4,000 per unit, has also seen a similar hike of ₹500, taking the new price to around ₹4,500 per unit.

Similarly, the price of P-sand, which was earlier ₹5,000 per unit, has gone up by ₹500 and is now being sold at nearly ₹5,500 per unit.

Industry sources note that the extent of the price revision may slightly vary depending on the district and local supply conditions. However, the overall trend shows a uniform upward movement in construction material costs across Tamil Nadu.

The price hike is expected to impact ongoing construction projects, especially in the residential and small infrastructure segments, where material costs form a major part of the budget.
