Important News About Ashok Leyland Bagging the Order of Supplying Buses to Various STUs
Old buses operating across Tamil Nadu would soon become a thing of the past as Ashok Leyland, the Indian flagship company of the Hinduja Group, has bagged an order to deliver 1,937 buses to various State Transport Undertakings (STUs). These new buses, built with the latest technology, are expected to replace the aging fleet currently in operation across the state.
According to the company’s press release, the new buses are designed to provide outstanding passenger comfort and are equipped with advanced I Gen 6 BS VI engine technology. They will cater to town, mofussil, and long-distance services under the State Express Transport Corporation (SETC).
The release further stated that the buses will be built on the latest AIS 153 compliant chassis platform, meeting all Indian safety and performance regulations. Enhancements in structural integrity, ride comfort, and vehicle reliability have also been emphasized. The new Viking and SETC model buses are expected to deliver superior performance, safety, and comfort, marking a significant step forward in the modernization of Tamil Nadu’s public transport system.
