Over 2.2 Lakh Candidates Attend TRB PG Teacher Recruitment Exam in Tamil Nadu
As many as 2.20 lakh candidates appeared for the Teacher Recruitment Board (TRB) examination held across Tamil Nadu on Sunday for the recruitment of Postgraduate (PG) teachers, Physical Education Directors (Grade I), and Computer Instructors (Grade I).
Out of the 2.36 lakh applicants for 1,996 vacancies across 14 subjects including Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Commerce, Economics, History, Geography, Political Science, Computer Science, and Physical Education, 93.18% attended the exam.
According to TRB data, the applicants included 1.73 lakh women, 63,113 men, and seven transgender candidates, along with 3,734 differently-abled candidates. The examination was conducted smoothly across 809 centres in the State, while 16,118 candidates were absent.
Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹36,900 to ₹1.16 lakh depending on the post and experience level.
