Chennai Rain Forecast: Next Spell Expected from November 6 to 8

Chennai and its neighbouring districts may receive another spell of seasonal rainfall from November 6 to 8, following Cyclone Murasu’s landfall over the Andhra Pradesh coast on November 3.

According to private weather forecaster Pradeep John, rain-bearing clouds from the cyclone’s remnants could bring showers to Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu and Kancheepuram districts.

Rain Expected Across Tamil Nadu

Rain is also possible in the Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, Namakkal, Krishnagiri, Tiruvannamalai, Tirupattur, Kallakurichi and Villupuram districts.

Cyclone Murasu crossed the coast near Ongole, between Nellore and Narasapur, early on November 3 as a severe cyclonic storm. It is expected to weaken gradually while moving north-northwestward.

Will Rain Affect Diwali Celebrations?

With Diwali falling on November 8, rainfall during the forecast period may affect outdoor celebrations and fireworks. Residents are advised to follow updated weather forecasts and take precautions during rainy conditions.
