CMWSSB Tax Counters to Remain Open This Sunday in Chennai

Chennai: The Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) has announced that all tax collection counters at its head office and regional offices will remain open this Sunday to help consumers clear their water and sewerage dues.

The counters will function from 10 am to 3:30 pm, giving residents an additional opportunity to pay their taxes, charges and pending arrears for the first half of the 2026–27 financial year.

Pay Water and Sewerage Taxes Before September 30

CMWSSB has urged consumers to settle their outstanding water and sewerage taxes and charges before September 30 to avoid additional surcharge fees.

The special Sunday counter service is intended to make it easier for residents who may not be able to visit CMWSSB offices on regular working days.

Online Payment Facility Available

Consumers can also pay their CMWSSB dues online using credit cards, debit cards or net banking through the CMWSSB customer payment portal.

Other payment options include:

- UPI

- QR code payments

- Cheques

- Demand drafts

- e-Sevai centres

Residents are advised to complete their payments within the deadline and retain the payment confirmation or receipt for future reference.

CMWSSB Urges Consumers to Clear Pending Dues

CMWSSB has requested consumers to make use of the available payment facilities and clear their outstanding dues on time. The board said timely payment would help consumers avoid surcharge charges on pending tax and water-related dues.
