AIADMK Finalises Chennai Seat Sharing for Assembly Elections

With the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections scheduled for April 23, the AIADMK has wrapped up its seat-sharing plan for Chennai, clearly outlining where it will contest and where its allies will step in.

AIADMK to Contest Majority of Seats

The party will be directly contesting in 13 of the 16 constituencies in Chennai. These include R.K. Nagar, Kolathur, Villivakkam, T.V.K. Nagar (Reserved), Egmore (Reserved), Royapuram, Harbour, Chepauk-Triplicane, Thousand Lights, Anna Nagar, Virugambakkam, T. Nagar, and Velachery.

Seats Given to Alliance Partners

As part of the alliance arrangement, three constituencies have been allocated to partner parties:

Mylapore - Bharatiya Janata Party
Saidapet - Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam
Perambur - Pattali Makkal Katchi

Suburban Areas Also Finalised

In the Chennai suburbs, the seat-sharing has also been worked out:

Pallavaram - Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi (led by Parivendhar)
Poonamallee - AMMK
Ambattur, Thiruporur - PMK
Avadi - BJP

The AIADMK will contest directly in Alandur, Tambaram, Chengalpattu, and Sholinganallur.
