Geri Care’s ‘Across the Table’ Brings Generations Together in Chennai

Geri Care organised its ‘Across the Table’ initiative at Kaylir Canteen, Mylapore, bringing senior citizens and young volunteers together for meaningful one-on-one conversations.

The event featured icebreakers, Chennai-themed games, cinema discussions and South Indian food, creating a relaxed setting for participants from different generations to connect. Many conversations continued beyond the event, leading to new friendships and lasting bonds.

Geri Care Chief Marketing & Communications Officer Anand Subramanian said the initiative was built on the belief that meaningful human connections play an important role in healthy ageing. The programme highlighted how simple conversations can help bridge generational gaps and strengthen community connections.
