Chennai Traffic Police Book Over 2,900 Traffic Violators in 3-Days

The Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) registered more than 2,900 traffic violation cases during a special enforcement drive conducted from June 12 to 14 across Chennai.

The crackdown targeted major offences, including drunk driving, over-speeding, rash driving, and riding without helmets. Police booked 434 motorists for drunk driving, 130 for over-speeding and rash driving, and 2,385 riders for not wearing helmets.

The Chennai Traffic Police said the drive was aimed at improving road safety, reducing accidents, and ensuring safer travel for all road users. Officials also urged motorists to follow traffic rules and cooperate with enforcement efforts to make Chennai roads safer.
