Tamil Nadu Child Helpline 1098 Recruitment 2026: Applications Invited for Case Worker Posts

The Directorate of Children Welfare and Special Services (DCWSS), Tamil Nadu, has invited applications to fill vacancies in Child Helpline 1098 and District Child Protection Units (DCPUs) across the state. The recruitment aims to address staff shortages and strengthen services for children in need of care and protection.

Child Helpline 1098 Recruitment: 8 Case Worker Vacancies

The department has announced eight vacancies for case workers to support the operation of Child Helpline 1098. The helpline functions round the clock to receive calls and coordinate assistance for children requiring emergency support.

Officials have stated that the existing workforce is insufficient to manage the service effectively. The department currently has staff attending calls at its Chennai office, while 304 personnel are deployed at the district level for field interventions.

The recruitment is intended to improve call handling, referrals and coordination with relevant authorities.

Eligibility Criteria and Salary

Candidates applying for the Child Helpline 1098 case worker posts must meet the following requirements:

Educational qualification: Class 12 pass from a recognised board.

Skills: Good communication skills.

Preference: Candidates with experience in emergency helplines may receive preference.

Monthly salary: ₹17,640.

Work schedule: Shift-based duty.

The selected personnel will help handle calls and coordinate the initial response to cases involving children in need of assistance.
