Zomato Launches Chennai Anthem “Veppam is Our Weapon”

Zomato has launched a Chennai anthem titled “Veppam is Our Weapon” in collaboration with regional rap artist Paal Dabba. The music video celebrates Chennai’s unique culture, energy and resilience, using the city’s intense heat as a powerful symbol of its spirit.

Inspired by Chennai’s scorching summers, fiery food and everyday life, the anthem features local slang, familiar references and recognisable settings. Paal Dabba said the song was inspired by the streets of Chennai and reflects the rhythm and language he grew up with.

According to Zomato, while other cities may try to escape the heat, Chennai embraces it and thrives on it. Through this collaboration, the brand pays tribute to the city’s passion, strength and ability to turn every challenge into energy.
