Egmore Metro Station Parking Temporarily Closed Due to Construction Work
The Chennai Metro Rail Limited has announced that the vehicle parking facility and some entry gates at the Egmore Metro Station will be temporarily closed due to ongoing construction works.
According to officials, the decision has been taken because of construction work being carried out by Southern Railway near the Chennai Egmore Railway Station area.
Parking Facility Closed
The vehicle parking facility at Egmore Metro Station will remain completely closed from March 9, 2026, until further notice.
Passengers are advised to use parking facilities available at nearby metro stations during this period.
Entry Gates Restriction
Only Entrance Gates B1 and B2 located on Poonamallee High Road side will remain open for passenger entry and exit.
All other entrances located near the construction area will remain temporarily closed.
Passenger Guidance
The temporary arrangement has been made to ensure passenger safety and smooth progress of construction work.
Metro officials stated that information boards and station staff will be available to guide passengers, and the metro authority has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to commuters.
