Chennai Records 40.7°C as Heatwave Continues Across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry

Chennai continued to experience intense summer heat as Meenambakkam recorded a maximum temperature of 40.7°C (105°F) on Tuesday, making it one of the hottest places in Tamil Nadu. According to weather officials, several parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry witnessed temperatures above normal levels over the past 10 days.

Nungambakkam also recorded a high temperature of 40.4°C (104°F), indicating the ongoing heatwave conditions in the city.

The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has stated that districts including Cuddalore, Madurai, Parangipettai, Puducherry, Dharmapuri, Tiruttani, Thondi, and Vellore are likely to witness temperatures exceeding 38°C in the coming days.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak afternoon hours, and take necessary precautions against heat-related illnesses.
