Kilambakkam Skywalk Set to Open in May After Polls

The long-awaited skywalk connecting the Kalaignar Centenary Bus Terminus with the Kilambakkam Railway Halt is expected to open in May, bringing relief to daily commuters.
Work is now in the final stage, with flooring, roofing, lifts, escalators, and railings being completed. The only major task left is installing the span across GST Road, which will be done after the April 23 polling since it requires traffic diversion.
Officials say earlier issues have been fixed, and the ₹79-crore project should be ready within 2 to 3 weeks after this final installation. Once opened, the skywalk will make it much easier and safer for passengers to move between the bus stand and the railway station.
