TNTET Paper II 2026: 1.60 Lakh Candidates Appear, 95.94% Attendance in Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) 2026 Paper II for in-service teachers concluded successfully across the state on Sunday, with an impressive 95.94% attendance rate.

According to the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB), the examination was conducted at 613 centres across Tamil Nadu. Out of 1,67,743 registered candidates, 1,60,929 candidates appeared for the examination.

TRB officials confirmed that the examination was held smoothly, transparently, and fairly, with no major disruptions or irregularities reported from any examination centre.

Earlier, TNTET Paper I, conducted on Saturday, witnessed 59,535 candidates taking the exam out of 61,386 registered candidates.

Many teachers who attended the examination felt that Paper II was comparatively easier than Paper I. While candidates shared mixed opinions regarding the difficulty level, several educators believe that a large number of in-service teachers are likely to qualify.

A government school teacher said, "Paper II was far easier than Paper I. Though candidates have expressed varied opinions, we expect most teachers to clear the examination."

The TNTET is a crucial eligibility examination conducted by the Teachers Recruitment Board for candidates aspiring to become teachers in Tamil Nadu government schools.
