Kalanjali 2025 Resonates with Music, Heritage, and Inspiration
Heartfulness International School, Omega Branch, celebrated its annual cultural extravaganza, Kalanjali 2025, in a spectacular fashion today at the historic Vani Mahal, T. Nagar. The event, marking 20 years of the school’s commitment to nurturing creativity and holistic learning, brought together students, parents, and art lovers for an evening that seamlessly blended tradition with contemporary artistry.
The highlight of the evening was a mesmerizing 90-minute concert by renowned Santoor maestro Shri Rahul Sharma, accompanied by tabla virtuoso Shri Aditya Kalyanpur. The artists captivated the audience with their soulful exploration of Raaga Vachaspati, culminating in a stirring Kashmiri Dhun that reflected the rich tapestry of Indian music.
As part of the celebrations, Shri Rahul Sharma, along with the school management, officially unveiled “The Heartfulness Way Book 2”, authored by Daaji. This new volume serves as an inspirational guide for readers seeking inner transformation and balance, resonating deeply with the values embodied by the Heartfulness community.
In the welcome address, School Correspondent Shri Bharath Madhavan emphasized that Kalanjali 2025 was a wholly student-driven initiative: “From sponsorships, ticketing, and publicity, to logistics, backstage and venue decor, every aspect was planned, organised, and executed by our senior students under the guidance of their teachers.” He highlighted the invaluable benefits for students, noting that hands-on event management experience helped them build real-world skills in leadership, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving - lessons that will empower them far beyond the classroom.
In addition to the musical performances, the evening honored winners of the Kalanjali Research Challenge, an essay competition designed to encourage students to delve into India’s artistic and cultural heritage, especially the significance and legacy of the Santoor.
