The revised arrangements will come into effect from February 20, 2026 (00:00 hrs) and will continue until April 5, 2026 (23:59 hrs), covering a period of 45 days.

Platform Changes for EMU Train Services

During the renovation period, suburban EMU trains normally handled at Platforms 10 and 11 will be shifted to alternate platforms:

- Chennai Beach to Tambaram / Chengalpattu / Kanchipuram / Arakkonam routes:
All EMU services will operate from Platform 6 at Chennai Egmore (fast line).

- Arakkonam / Kanchipuram / Chengalpattu / Tambaram to Chennai Beach routes:
All return EMU trains will arrive and depart from Platform 5 at Chennai Egmore (fast line).

Revised Train Numbers and Timings

Southern Railway has confirmed that several existing EMU services on the Chennai Beach – Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, and Arakkonam sections will be temporarily cancelled and replaced with new train numbers and revised schedules. Passengers are advised to refer to the official temporary timetable (Annexure A) for updated timings.

No Separate Sunday Timetable

Another key update is that there will be no separate Sunday timetable for Chennai Beach–Tambaram services during this 45-day period.
