A felicitation ceremony was held on 13th July 2025 at the Inyon Arena, Trichy, to honor social worker Dr. N. Panchapakesan (Sai Shankara). He was awarded a commemorative gold medal named after him, along with a fixed endowment of ₹2 lakh. As part of the event, a special memorial award was also presented to deaf children who had lost their parents.
Dr. Panchapakesan, known for his lifetime commitment to philanthropy, has made significant financial contributions twice and continues to support various social welfare initiatives, particularly student aid.
The event was presided over by Dr. J.V. Vandekete, with felicitations delivered by journalist Tirupur Krishnan, Dr. Majidu Nizamuddin, poet Ramanathan, Professor Ramasamy, and psychologist Jayanthi. Cultural programs, including a musical tribute, were also held.
Dr. Panchapakesan expressed his heartfelt thanks and announced that this felicitation event would be celebrated annually as a Social Welfare Festival.
