Southern Railway Revises AC EMU Timings Based on Passenger Feedback

Southern Railway has revised the schedule of its recently launched AC EMU suburban trains to better align with commuter needs. The updated timings, effective from May 2, include:

- Train 49001: Tambaram (6:50 AM) - Chengalpattu (7:35 AM)
- Train 49002: Chengalpattu (7:50 AM) - Beach (9:25 AM)
- Train 49003: Beach (9:41 AM) - Tambaram
- Train 49004: Tambaram (1:00 PM) - Beach
- Train 49005: Beach (2:30 PM) - Chengalpattu
- Train 49006: Chengalpattu (4:30 PM) - Beach
- Train 49007: Beach (6:17 PM) - Chengalpattu
- Train 49008: Chengalpattu (8:10 PM) - Beach

The changes follow an overwhelming response from 600+ passengers during a feedback campaign (April 19-24), which highlighted the need for better morning and evening connectivity for office-goers. Earlier services like the 5:45 AM Tambaram-Beach train saw low ridership, prompting adjustments to match peak travel patterns.
