Sarada Sakthi Peetam – A Service To Society

Posted on: 05/Jan/2026 10:34:59 AM

Sarada Sakthi Peetam (SSP), located at Perungalathur, Chennai, is a charitable organization established in 1988. The institution is actively involved in spiritual, medical, educational, and orphanage services for poor and underprivileged children.

SSP was earlier known as Sri Ramakrishna Seva Gurukulam. A second branch was established in 2004 at Karaikal to support children affected by the Tsunami. At present, around 150 children are being cared for across all SSP institutions, including separate accommodation for girl children.

The primary objective of Sarada Sakthi Peetam is to help children become self-reliant. Children are admitted to good schools and supported to study up to 10th or 12th standard. Students who perform well are further encouraged to pursue college and higher education.

The entire functioning of the Ashram depends on donations from well-wishers and philanthropists. To support its activities, SSP has introduced several donation and endowment schemes, including:

- Permanent adoption of a student
- Food sponsorship (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
- Education expenses
- Higher education support
- Medical and daily maintenance needs

The monthly running expenditure of Sarada Sakthi Peetam is approximately Rs. 8,50,000. Donors may contribute any amount towards this noble cause.

All donations made to Sarada Sakthi Peetam are eligible for Income Tax exemption under Section 80G.
